Citizens' Complaints Against Peace Officers, 2017
The Citizens’ Complaints Against Peace Officers (CCAPO) data provides annual summary information on the number of complaints reported by citizens against peace officers. Assembly Bill 953 (2015) modified the reporting requirements to also include complaints based upon racial and identity profiling claims. 2016 was the first year of collection under the new reporting requirements.

- In 2017, there were 1,548 complaints reported from local detention facilities.
